Sall Sangare Safiatou

The thirst for knowledge and the spirit to always do a better job pushed her (me?) to go deeper in the field of agriculture. Born into the farmers' family of the late Mr. Moussa and Mrs.
Aminata Tourespouse of Mr Adama Sall and mother of four children AminataAdamaMoriba and AissataSafiatou could only follow the footsteps of her parents mindful of the humble role that agriculture plays in the development and self-sufficiency of human beings.  She obtained her BSc degree in Agricultural Engineering from Institut Polytechnique Rural de Formation et de Recherche applique de KatibougouKoulikoro Mali and proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and TechnologyKumasiGhanafor her Masters in Seed Science and Technology.  She worked at the Laboratoire Sol Eau Plante in the Institut d'Economie Rural de Sotuba Bamako as a Research Assistant. Her interest in the WACCI breeding programme is specifically focused on the development of striga resistant high-yielding maize hybrid  "The WACCI PhD program is a great opportunity for me to realize my dream of becoming a member of the generation of plant breeders working to ensure and sustain food security in Africa'she says.
